Bay Awesome 2020 TBay Top 20 Holiday Gift List

’Tis the season to start thinking about Christmas shopping. Cue the carols!! But, like most things in 2020, the way you’ll check everyone off your gift list is bound to be a little bit different this year, as long-standing holiday shopping traditions are being put to the test. Now I know you might think it’s easier to go online and Amazon Prime it, but this year, more than ever,  it’s super important to SUPPORT LOCAL. Shopping at home and in your local shops, not only benefits the community, entrepreneurs, talented artisans and local families, but you’re also going to find the most[…]

The Bay Awesome Tbay 2020 Summer Bucket List

Ya, I know your summer vacation plans have been derailed by the pandemic, but that doesn’t  mean we’re going to spend the next two months watching Netflix all day. No! (Because we actually watched everything on it already.) But seriously, don’t let the season pass you by. Make the most of what’s in  your very own backyard. Make it a #tbaycation!  Sunset at 10pm? Not a problem. Sunrise at 6am?  You got it. Frankly, why would we even be spending a single second inside when it’s beautiful all day long? Aside from the sun being on its best and brightest[…]

Awesome Reads During Isolation

Between seeing less of our family and friends, working from home, and not being able to swing by the Sov for that occasional Long Island, our daily lives are …. a little strange, and I think we can all use some comfort. Personally, sometimes a book is exactly just what I need— a good read to get out of the house and take my mind to a totally different place, or maybe teach me something new and awesome (a different perspective). Books can boost happiness, minimize that anxiety I’m sure we are all experiencing, and just make us forget about[…]

I got it FOR my momma! (A last minute Bay Awesome TBay Gift List)

With Mother’s day just around the corner (THIS SUNDAY), many of you have been asking me for local gift ideas. I know that this year in particular, shopping for the Queen in your life is a little more tricky and stressful, as we can’t go into stores and browse around; But it’s even more of a reason to shop local and support all of our businesses, crafters and makers. So, I have rounded up a couple of my favourite gifts (that are still left in stock)…from breakfast in bed, mimosas, homemade bird houses, Lake Superior beach glass and a pottery mug[…]

At home. Being unproductive.

Social media is making me feel pretty inadequate these days, not to mention antiquated. Every time I do a quick check to see what’s happening out in the world, I’m being convinced that my new found “free time” is in fact, time wasted. Instagram taunting me with these recently showered people who are all shouting “my self-isolation is soooo much cooler than yours!!” As I scroll through my accounts, flooded full of photos and videos of people doing some pretty awesome things…. I first of all wonder, when did everyone become a professional dancer, chef,  workout instructor, etc!? Impressive guys.[…]
